Built as a spa near the rail line 1908-09
Visitors came to drink mineral waters and enjoy home cooked
meals
Structure originally built by Thomas Monroe Wright
Wright was an architect and builder
Brick plant rented for a whole year during construction of
hotel
A ten foot foundation was built to support building
House covers about ½ acre
Servants’ quarters and pump house originally on northeast corner of
lot
Hotel ceased operation 1962
Facility re-opened on limited basis 1968
Site donated to the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society, 1986
Listed on National Register of Historic Places, 1981
Museum area located on third floor
