ORTING, WA
In the early 1900's when Teddy Roosevelt became president, the Alaska Gold Rush was on, and the first World Series took place. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were robbing trains an Orville Wright was making his first flight.
Orting, a daily station stop for three (3) Northern Pacific Transcontinental Trains, was a thriving community of 728 people.
This mural depicts a glimpse of Orting during that era.
Commissioned by Dr. & Mrs. Arlan R. Ellis in 1996.
