This lighthouse sits where Lakeshore Road meets the Credit River in Mississauga. It's primarily used to show pleasure boaters where the Port Credit Marina is.
This is not the original lighthouse. The first lighthouse was built in 1882 and was destroyed by fire in 1936.
The current structure serves as a symbol of Port Credit's community. It is a replica that is built on top of the sewage pumping station. The lighthouse is also flanked by the waterfront trail (part of the Trans Canada Trail).
