South Side Cemetery was established in September of 1873. The former Mayor Armstrong buried here, along with many local business people, one such family being the Sankey family, who owned a brick company in Pittsburgh that grew into a large, profitable business. There are over 40,000 people buried here. There are three pet sections, with two already completely filled, and the third close to.
