A brilliant new mural celebrating San Benito's rural beauty

Blenheim apricots used to be one of San Benito county's best cash crops. They are sold fresh (for a few weeks in season) and dried, far better tasting than the cheap Turkish imports usually found in grocery stores. Although the apricot orchard acreage has recently fallen to less than 1000 acres, it is still an important and beautiful remnant of the county's rural appeal.
This mural is part of an effort by the Hollister Downtown Association to revitalize and beautify the historic downtown district.
