Aseismic creep is movement along a fault which occurs without earthquakes. Aseismic creep is slow and steady enough to not be recorded by ordinary seismographs. Hollister is perhaps the most-visible example in the world. The Calaveras Fault passes within a few blocks of historic downtown Hollister, and its trace is seen in broken curbs, bent walls, and twisted houses.
At this specific location, slow ground movement has bent a once-straight concrete wall.
