[FR] En janvier, 1964, les Beatles partent pour Paris, où ils jouent plusieurs soirs d'affilée à l'Olympia à la même affiche que Sylvie Vartan et Trini Lopez. Malheureusement, à part pour une poignée de fanatiques, la France ne succombe pas complètement à leur charme.
Voici ce qu'un journaliste écrit sur les Beatles dans France Soir : "des vieux zazous rénové par le "yé-yé"....leur "yé-yé" est le pire que nous ayons entendu depuis quatre ans....il n'est rien qu'un public parisien puisse moins supporter que des vedettes démodées"

Pendant qu'ils sont à Paris, ils en profitent pour enregistrer deux versions de leur hits en allemand : "sie liebt dich" et "komm, gib mir deine hand" et une première version de "can't buy me love".
[EN] From January 16, 2964 until Thursday 4 February, The Beatles performed 18 days of concerts at Paris' Olympia Theatre, on a nine-act bill, playing two and sometimes three sets each day.
The Beatles closed each performance, but shared top billing at various times with French singer Sylvie Vartan or America's Trini Lopez. They had just two days off in the run, on 21 and 28 January.
The songs in The Beatles' set were From Me To You, Roll Over Beethoven, She Loves You, This Boy, Boys, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Twist And Shout and Long Tall Sally., though for some shows, particularly the matinée performances, they played for less time.
