Turn left on unmarked gravel road (SR1971) for 0.4 mile. Monument is on left, at a dim woods road. It is on a bank about eight feet above SR1971, and about 35 feet west of the centerline. It is about 15 feet north of the the woods road. Monument projects 12 inches above ground, and can be seen from SR1971.
Marker No. 18 is 585 feet NW, through the woods. Both were placed by the US Corps of Engineers in 1967. There are numerous survey marks nearby.
