State park managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Natural Resources, Moraine State Park has two beaches, South Shore beach and North Shore beach. The North Shore beach had the added benefit of being reachable by bicycle on a paved path.
The state park is used by boaters, fishermen, sailing enthusiasts.
The sand is not local, and swimming outside the swimming boundary is severely prohibited. A food concessionary serves fast food and ice cream. Free changing rooms are available. Parking is free. Entry to the state park is free every day of the year.
