Currently, this structure serves as the GO Transit and VIA Rail station for Georgetown. This was originally the Georgetown station for the Grand Trunk Railway. The railway was one of the major reasons for Confederation, even though it nearly went bankrupt in 1860.

The station still operates as a railway station today, and features a benchmark on one corner of the structure.
