Not a lot in Pineville, besides a Jesse James museum. This is really Jesse James and Bell Star country. In the SW corner of this county is the town of South West City, in which the movie of Jesse James (one starring Henry Fonda) was actually filmed. Also there, when Oklahoma and Arkansas bump into Missouri is a tri-state marker pointing out the exact spot where the three states meet. Also near South West City is the grave and Memorial to the only Indian who became a General. General Stand Watie, Cherokee and Civil War Confederate General. Interesting country, was full of cave tourist attractions, but since interstates go else where, tourists don't come here much anymore, except at Christmas time...then the flood is to the town of Noel. People want the get that post mark on their Christmas cards. The towns people get annoyed if you pronounce it the Christmas way..should be pronounced like a man's name like Noel Coward.
