Sunflowers cover acre after acre of farm land in and around Veterans Memorial Park in the nearby countryside of Camillus, N.Y. Each year, starting in early August, The Town of Camillus' Veteran's Memorial Park at Gillie Lake features a sunflower maze. The 2.5 acre maze is carved out of a field of sunflowers located at the Sands Road entrance to the park. The maze remains open until August 17, when its time to harvest the sunflowers.
