Copper smelting plant - Ripley MI This area once was once known for copper mining, the mines shut down in the 70's and many of the buildings are slowly crumbling under the heavy winter snows. These buildings can be viewed from gravel roads but are fenced off, There are great views from the canal or from the Houghton side of the canal.
