This anchor was placed here to honor Charles C. Crisafulli, the first casualty of World War II from Oswego County. It is placed on the corner of a small park that was also named in Crisafullis' honor. Charles Crisafulli lost his life in a rescue attempt in the St. Lawrence River at Newfoundland on February 18th, 1942.
