This monument, entitled “Common Ground” was created in 1984 by Joe Wheeler, and was part of an effort of Beacon Hill residents to restore and beautify Benefit Park, located at 39th Ave South and S. Benefit Street. By all accounts, I would say that the Beacon Hill residents and Mr. Wheeler succeeded. Common Ground is a very cool and unique feature of the park, standing tall and remarkable, slightly reminiscent of the great Stonehenge.
