This piece of art is part of the Weisman Art Museum Collection.
"In memory of the late Hubert Humphrey, the artist created a small park which integrates pathways, seating, trees, and a speaker's podium. Quotes from Humphrey are inscribed in the low walls and across the backs of wooden benches.
This geometrically-shaped plaza is a sanctuary to memorialize Hubert Humphrey. The artist created a small plaza from stone, aggregrate, grass and trees. Inscriptions from Humphrey's own words are visible in the walls and wooden benches. The artist felt it was more important to memorialize Humphrey's deeds and thoughts than to create a physical likeness of him. The plaza succeeds as a simple, understated memorial to the late Minnesota senator."
