According to Wikipedia, "Waiting for the Interurban," 1979, sculptor Richard Beyer, is a cast aluminum sculpture collection in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. Located on N. 34th Street at the northern end of the Fremont Bridge, the sculptures are framed by a Pergola. It consists of six people and a dog with a human face, standing under a shelter (Pergola) and waiting for public transportation -- specifically, the Seattle-Everett Interurban. Actually, the six figures would have waited for a very long time as the Interurban ran on Fremont Avenue and never turned east on 34th.

People living and working in the Fremont neighborhood often dress the characters in apparel appropriate to the season i.e. St. Patricks, Christmas, etc. or events such as birthdays. History House at the corner of N. 34th Street and Troll Avenue N. has an exhibit board showing some of the most imaginative displays by people who have decorated the statues over the years.
