Long Description:
This summit is on private propery. However, the owners have
generously allowed public access. In 2005, an Eagle Scout with his
crew tranformed the summit into a peaceful, clean, safe place to
visit. I had visited the summit before 2005- and it was a nasty
challege to get to the top. At that time you had to climb an old
stile over the fence and you ran the risk of getting stuck in the
mud trying to back out of the access lane.
Now the drive is gravel and the summit has a clear dirt/gravel path
to the top. Once there, you will spot the cairn and the newly
painted elevation sign. There is also a bench and a picnic table-
and a bat house- to take care of the mosquitos. I loved the
brick-enlayed mailbox that holds the register. All 2 of them- the
first one that is full is still in the mailbox. The newer register
is well on its way to becoming full.
