in the Cleveland points of interest section:
The TOM L. JOHNSON STATUE, center of NW. quadrangle of Public Square, a figure of the city's most noted mayor seated on a circular marble dais, was made by Herman N. Matzen, Cleveland, and erected in 1915.
Tom L. Johnson was mayor of Cleveland from 1901 to 1909. He is considered a great influence in the progressive movement in the United States that took place in the early 20th century. Johnson also is regarded as one of the best mayors in Cleveland's history.
The statue is now located on the north side of the northwest quad, close to the Old Stone Church.
