Straddling the border of Orleans and Genesee Counties, the Oak Orchard Creek Marsh comprises a large area of undisturbed marsh habitat and is included in the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge as well as the adjacent NYS Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area. The site has many viewing areas and enhanced nature trails ( eg. the Swallow Hollow Nature Trail). The area was designated a National Natural Monument in May of 1973.
