The village can be dated back to 970, before the Domesday book, and one of its oldest buildings, All Saints Church, is worth a visit.
This church is 13th-14th Century, built of stone and flint. A lot of renovation was carried out by Rev. Wragg in the 19thC. The church is in an elevated positon with commanding views to the west, and was used by the Narrow boat's as a place of worship when they stopped nearby.
