Jordan Lolley of Boy Scout Troop 412 must have known that tourists get tired while visiting the various sights of Kennesaw, GA. Maybe he overheard one of them complaining about thier tired, sore feet. However it came about, his Eagle Scout Project was to provide benches for tourists to rest on while touring the Southern Locomotive Museum in Kennesaw, GA.
Completed in April of 2004, the 2 double benches and 3 regular benches now reside under the shade tree next to the retired L&N Caboose. Used as a gathering point for bus tour passengers and a lecture area for the museum guides those 5 benches continue to see daily use. Legions of tourists enjoy the tours available and hopefully they pause a moment while giving thier tired feet a break and read the plaque on the back of one of the benches. If they do, they'll know to thank Jordan and his Eagle Project for the rest they are enjoying right then.
I know because I thanked him, too.
