This attraction is located just off the side of the road in Foscoe along Highway 105. We've been here several times and the kids always enjoyed finding their "gems"

The Greater Foscoe Mining Company gem mine was started in 1988 here in Foscoe, NC by owner Kenneth Pickett with “three troughs and a garden hose.” It was originally started as a fun business for Kenny’s children and over the years has grown into the largest gem mine in the area and just keeps getting better and better!
Features daily mining with the opportunity to find emeralds, sapphires, rubies, topaz, amethyst, aquamarine,citrine, green tourmaline and more. Gem cutting on the premises.
They are open for indoor and outdoor flume gem mining in the spring through the fall, seven days a week, from 9am until 6pm and on holidays during the winter months,
