Here is the history of this place according to another plaque on the same concrete pillar base:
Brackett's Landing
At this location in 1870 George Brackett first came ashore to explore timber prospects of the area he established prior to 1884, a steamboat pier known as Brackett's landing.
George Brackett 1841-1928
Founder of Edmonds-First Mayor and Postmaster.
This marker is located in the concrete base of one of the wooden poles that make of the entrance to Brackett's Landing Park.
I forgot to get a picture of the park area and it is a little big to show all in one photo, so I am including a birds eye view of Brackett's landing from Microsoft Live Maps.
