Long Description:There are 3 entrances/drives into the Darrtown Cemtery - but there
is no sign stating that it is Darrtown Cemtery. Without a doubt -
the locals never needed a sign. It's located west of town on
Schollenbarger Rd.
There is an old pioneer section with about 100 graves.... and then
there is the newer section with about 400 graves.
1806: Darrtown Cemetery laid out. by Thomas COOCH and Mr. MARKLE.
The former gave one and the latter half an acre of land. The first
interment was that of Harriet, daughter of Thomas and Hannah COOCH,
September 6, 1806.
