From the plaque:
Franklinton's first school bell was cast in 1851 by C. F. Coffin at the Buckeye Bell Foundry in Cincinnati, Ohio. Franklinton school was constructed in 1879 at the northeast corner of West Broad and Sandusky Street, on the foundation of Franklin County's first court house. The court house served as the school after the court was moved in 1824. The Franklinton school was razed March 13, 1956 to make way for State Route 315.
Admission to COSI is $12.50 for adults, $7.50 for youth, $10.50 for seniors and free for COSI members, children under 2, active military personnel, certified teachers, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters with their Little Brother/Sister. Website: www.cosi.org
