This trail register is about 40 feet beyond the trail head. It is in fine condition and has frequent visits. The trail to the lake is about 2 miles long with 1000 feet of elevation gain. Heather Lake rests in a picturesque glacial carved bowl amid high craggy mountains. There are some splendid old growth trees to see on the way up.
