This M-60 Tank was the last of the Patton series of tanks. The 60 series replaced the M-48 Patton when it was introduced as the main US battle tank in 1960. Its 105mm gun replaced the M-48's 90mm gun to become the tank of choice for NATO forces for the duration of the Cold War. These Tanks saw action in Viet Nam, Yom Kippur, Iran-Iraq and Desert Storm. It was phased out in the 1990's in the US. However with the help of some upgrades they are still the main battle tank for many nations throughout the world today.
