visit link) . The 12-inch commemorative disk is mounted in the top of a three-foot by four-foot black granite boulder that projects about six inches. The disk and boulder are located in a grass and rock island in a concrete overlook about 100 feet northeast of the northeast corner of the interpretive center. The round, 12-inch, red, white and black logo of the Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors (MARLS) is painted on an adjacent facet of the boulder. MARLS set this disk, and it was dedicated in the Summer of 2005 as part of the “Explore the Big Sky” national signature event. The disk does not have any identifying stamping other than the standard design elements of the commemorative series of disks: CORPS OF DISCOVERY II – 200 YEARS TO THE FUTURE – PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP. To reach from the south end of the US Highway 87 southbound bridge over the Missouri River, turn left and go easterly on River Drive for about 1.8 miles to the entrance for Giant Springs Heritage Park. Turn left and follow the park drive northeasterly for about 0.8 miles to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center parking lot. From the main entrance on the south side of the center, follow the concrete walkway east, north and northwest for a total of about 350 feet to the overlook and the center. The overlook is immediately east of the stairway leading down to the Cliff Trail and immediately west of the amphitheater. Benchmark Hunter “CallawayMT” provided information that made this an easy visit and recovery. Recovery first logged at the Geocaching datasheet for station A110, PID = SS0606.
