When my kids were young, we lived in this small rural town that straddles Hwy 99, ten miles south of Tulare, CA. The water tower was a landmark and as we crossed Road 184 heading for home we always played this little game - who could see the Tipton Water Tower first?
Many years before that, my father-in-law was the head of the Tipton Water District. That volunteer position entailed, among other tasks, climbing to the top of the tower every month and adding several bottles of clorox to purify the town's drinking water.
For the Smith Family, this is not just any old Water Tower!
