Apparently Mr. Ray was a musician who played the guitar. This headstone stands out prominently in this cemetery. He died young as the dates indicate. Attached to the headstone at the time I took the picture were a watch and small scarf. I could not figure out the significance of these but I am sure they mean something to the people who loved him. Apparently his nickname was Railroad since it is inscribed on both the front and back of the marker.
The inscription on the backside of the headstone reads.. "Till the time comes for us to join him (Railroad) will pick and sing"
I tried to locate some more information about "Railroad" but was unsuccessful in my searches and even though he apparently lived just a few miles from me I did not know the man.
