The marker reads:
Time Capsule
Beneath this marker lies a time capsule buried June 2, 1984, The 200th Anniversary of the founding of Rockingham. It is to be unearthed and opened June 2, 2084, Rockingham's 300th Anniversary.
This marker was erected Oct. 21, 1996 By Richmond County Historical Society
The time capsule is located at the fountain near the flag pole of the town square of Rockingham, NC (Richmond Co.) near the intersection of N. Lee St., and W. Washington St.
The marker looks to be made of a similar granite as a headstone.
No mention of its contents etc.
