Skylark Cottage once stood next to the Bedford to Northampton railway line and was constructed in 1872. It was the Crossing Keeper's Cottage. The railway was closed in 1962 by Dr Beeching. The cottage is now at the crossroads of paths passing from Stevington to Bromham and the three mile walk along the old railway itself.
