In 1885, the Charlotte Sharman Primary School was built on the north-west side of West Square in the Borough of Southwark. The school was named after its founder the Christian philanthropist who ran orphanage homes for girls in this West Square neighborhood.
The entrances are labled "Boys," which is closest to St. George's Road, and "Girls and Infants." I have been told the term "Infants" in this case means pre-school aged children (3 - 5 years old) by today's terminology.
