In 1910-1911 the Pacific Electric Railway Company extended its service to Yorba Linda and built a depot. It strengthened the economic vitality of the community by providing an inexpensive and direct route to markets in Los Angeles. Today, it is a Polly’s restaurant.

The plaque by the front door states - 'Pacific Electric Depot - Depot was built by the Pacific Electric Railroad in 1911. Fruit was shipped out by the carload while fertilizer, lumber, machinery and other supplies were delivered here. The first means of public transportation, the "big red car", took townsfolk to Los Angeles nine times a day. As passengers approached, conductor Ben Foss would shout "Yorba Linda, capital of the world!"
