New Service At Recycling Depot!

Household Battery Recycling

The City Recycling Depot at Sixth Ave. & McBride is now receiving and recycling both rechargeable and non-rechargeable household batteries for residents. Recycling your household batteries keeps heavy metals out of landfills and allows for safe separation and recovery of materials for re-use.

If you would like to dispose of only the rechargeable battery types (e.g. nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion), “The Source” by Circuit City, London Drugs and Best Buy in New Westminster recycle them for free.

For more information about household battery recycling please call Engineering Operations at 604-526-4691 or the Recycling Council of BC (RCBC) hotline at: 604-732-9253.
