It's hard to mistake this for having been anything other than a drinking fountain. It has not been specifically converted to another use, but it is no longer functioning.
On the front (facing the street) is a bronze (or brass) plaque: "1924 IN MEMORY OF MARY MERRILL JEFFORDS ERECTED BY L.V.I.S."
Engraved on the back: "FOR MAN BEAST AND BIRD 1924."
On either side is a lion's head gargoyle, from which water would have poured into the bowl through a pipe in its mouth.
Setting: Outside
Place: Village green
Use: Nothing at the moment. It is just there.
