This 2-story structure dates back to 1868 and is still used for its intended purpose.

Montour County was created in 1850, when it was carved from Columbia County. The town of Danvile was incorporated in 1849, and is the site where the first iron railroad 't' rails were produced, as well as the birthplace Christopher Sholes - inventor of the typewriter.
