Look closely at the foundation on the bottom left, next to the door. The foundation bears the year on the left hand side of the front entrance that this chapel was moved from down the road, 1900.

The building was originally a school, and after WW I, the Episcopal church set up missionaries to preach religion to "country people". In 1917 the Bishop of the Diocese of Camden sent a reverend on horseback there to preach, and in 1925 when the building was abandoned the diocese bought it from the Washington Township School Board for $100 and a sign went up in front saying "St. Andrews Chapel".
