Just over the water is Llanrwst railway station. The bridge crosses the River Conwy.
Originally the bridge was a timber trestle construction which was built in the 19th century to link Trefriw with the railway station. Vistors would be taken from the station by horse-drawn carriage to Trefriw spa. There are some original timbers underneath the bridge you see today.
