This vertical control point is located about 0.70 miles north of the LaPine State Recreation Area Junction on Hwy 97 about 125 feet east of the centerline. The rod and logo cap were set by the National Geodetic Survey in 1988 and the rim of the logo camp is stamped C791. There is a orange marker post nearby.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1988 12.8 KM (7.95 MI) NORTHERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 97 FROM THE POST OFFICE IN LAPINE, 37.5 M (123.0 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 4.4 M (14.4 FT) NORTH OF THE CENTER OF A DIRT ROAD LEADING NORTHEAST, 0.3 M (1.0 FT) WEST OF A WITNESS POST, AND LEVEL WITH THE HIGHWAY. NOTE--ACCESS TO THE DATUM POINT IS THROUGH A 5-INCH LOGO CAP.
