Long Description:
In 1836 a young recently ordained priest was sent to establish missionary headquarters here for the Germans of this area. His name was John Nepomucene Neumann. He served at Saint Peter & Paul in the old church from 1836-1840. In 1977 this humble priest was canonized a saint by Pope Paul VI.
The current church was dedicated in 1866. The church saw renovations from 1945-1973 durning the pastorate of Msgr. George Zimpfer. An elementary school of the same name is next to the church. The current pastor is Jerome Kopec.
