constructed of locally quarried stone and bronze its location is atop a 560 foot hill overlooking a spectacular view of the Columbia River Gorge,The Dalles OR, and all the way to Mt. Adams on the Washington state side of the Columbia River. The monument is within a beautifully maintained city park. A rose garden next to it has several benches where one can sit, reflect, and just take in the scenery. It is a quiet and respectful place.
