Pioneer Cemetery is the first cemetery to be located in the Village of Pheonix and has many pioneers from the area buried there. There is one grave in peticular that is mentioned on a sign located along the roadside in front of the cemetery. That grave belongs to Timothy Olmsted, a Revolutionary War Soldier that was born in Pheonix in 1759. He was involved in the Revolutionary War from the age of 16, in the Connecticut area and Boston, Mass. He also served for a short time in the War of 1812. He died on Aug. 15, 1848 and his gravestone mentions his service as a Revolutionary War Soldier. This cemetery contains approx. 100 graves.
