We found this campground while out geocaching in the area and found it to be busy and almost full. It is located off Lee Highway just outside of Bristol, Virginia.

Lee Hwy Campground is a very popular old favorite campground among the folks of Bristol. The accommodating operators of the campground and the skillfully managed operations are quite unbelievable. Summer at Lee Hwy Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Lee Hwy Campground. The great choice of local attractions, and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came.
This section of Virginia is always a diversion to take a look at all through camping season. Some folks camp here to be in the vicinity of Sycamore Shoals State Park. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Lee Hwy Campground has it all. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Beech. A lake close by is Steele Creek Park Lake; great hiking is available along the Short Spur Trail. You shouldn't spend too much time indoors; you've gotta get out from time to time; Lee Hwy Campground in Virginia is a nice choice.
Clear Creek Golf Club is a golf course in close proximity to Lee Hwy Campground, and in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Watauga. This campground is so wonderful. Warriors Path State Park is a pleasant place to go if you're at Lee Hwy Campground; why not a little side visit to Little Creek.
There's good hiking along the Holston Mountain Trail, and whitewater paddling is good on Doe River. Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is playing golf, hiking, fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored. This is such a wonderful campground. Lee Hwy Campground is not far at all from Bristol; a delightful location for whitewater paddling is Holston River.
Lee Hwy Campground is to be found in a neighborhood with loads of exciting stuff to do; it is a fun place for everyone. Lee Hwy Campground is a relatively wet place regularly with much rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while October is commonly the driest month.
Lee Hwy Campground is right by the Old Dug Trail; a spree to Sycamore Shoals State Park revives the soul. Golf can be played at Steele CRK Park Golf Course; you can go for a hike on the Morrill Trail.
And that's not all you can do here at Lee Hwy Campground. An afternoon playing golf at Cedars Golf Course is always a pleasure; the Flint Mill Trail offers hiking at its best.
