This town is steeped in history and there are many historical markers as well as buildings with Historical Registry plaques on them as well. This is a wonderful location because of its small town feel.
The capsule was placed October 5, 1978 and will be opened October 5, 2078. It was placed by the town of Abingdon as a Bi-Centennial Capsule.
