Ho Chi Minh was the Vietnamese Communist leader who led Vietnamese nationalist forces against French colonial rule. He was president of North Vietnam when the USA became involved in the Vietnam war.[1]
The plaque is on the wall of the New Zealand embassy, which now stands on the site of the former Carlton Hotel where Ho Chi Minh worked during his time in London, in 1913 [2].
The plaque reads:
HO CHI MINH
1890-1969
Founder of modern Vietnam
Worked in 1913 at the Carlton Hotel which stood on this site.
