From the main entrance, enter the court yard and proceed to the garden entrance on the right side of the court yard. Follow the walk to the left and the entrance to the Japanese Garden will be on your left.
Within this space age-old combinations of natural and manmade elements embody the sprint of traditional Japanese style gardens. Intended to trigger an emotional response through the use of symbolism, each element of the design holds unique meaning.
Plants create a monochromatic green backdrop drawing attention to other natural elements; the texture of a stone, the sound of water, the shape of a tree. Careful pruning of trees and shrubs also focuses the eye on these details, adding a look of age and keeping plants in scale with the garden.
The central Meditation Garden contains pine and stone symbolizing longevity and age; bamboo symbolizing resiliency against all adversity and blooming fruit trees, representing youth and renewal of life.
