Long Description:Dr. William R. Brooks discovered no less than 27 different comets
from this observatory in the late 1800's. See the URL for a great
article from the New York times of over 100 years ago. Dr. Brooks
was the director of the Observatory and a professor at Hobart in
the late 1800's.
The Observatory is now private, but will be open to the public
on the third Sunday in July and August.
Visit Instructions:Note the time of day of your visit, and your own photo of your
favorite part of the observatory. This might be the view from the
observatory, picture of your favorite building or favorite exhibit.
(Be mindful of flash photography rules!)
