It's almost time for the brand-new "Lucky 3 x 3s Bowling Tournament" at the Boone Bowling Center on Sunday, August 19, sponsored by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Job Link Career Center.
The tournament features teams of three members each bowling a three game series," said tournament director George Brudzinski.
"We are appealing to recreational bowlers," Brudzinski said, "and for added fun, we have instituted an 8-pin ‘no tap' rule. If a bowler knocks down 8, 9 or 10 pins on his first ball, the score for that frame is a strike. Scores will be higher as a result," he said.
"Our focus is on enjoyment, with competition in men's, women's and mixed divisions.
We encourage businesses, groups, organizations and clubs to put together teams and sign up," he said.
Teams may choose to bowl at 6 or 8 p.m.
The entry fee is $60 per team, with cash prizes awarded in each division. The entry deadline is August 13.
